I am very proud that Stacy and Andi chose me to accompany them at their big day as their wedding photographer. Their wedding was as wonderful as their personal love story. They met and fell in love with each other during their exchange semester in Scotland. That is why Stacy, originally from the US and Andy from Vienna celebrated a Scottish-style wedding at an idyllic alp somewhere in Upper Styria with guests from all over the world.
Before they actually warmly welcomed their guests, we went a few hundred meters up the mountain. We arrived at a bench, where Andis grandparents went every day to enjoy the day and the nature. Accompanied by Scottish guitars and violins, they walked to the wedding altar together with all their guests. It was located under an oak tree that is hundreds of years old and the perfect location to whisper the wonderful words that come directly out of the heart:
“I take you to be my husband/wife, I will love you and hold you in good times and in bad, for rich or for poor, in sickness and health, where you go i will go, where you stay i will stay, your people are my people and our lives forever entwined.”
In the evening, Andy ended his unbelievably emotional speech with the words:
“I love you Stacy because you make me love and smile everyday. You are warm, you are caring, you are affectionate … you are just a wonderful and intelligent person that i feel incredibly excited to wake up next to every day. I am happy and proud to call myself your husband and to share the rest of my life with you.”
Stacy’s mom, who could not make it to Austria in person due to health issues, sent a message to the newly weds: „I only have one more thing to say to you – IT’S TIME TO CELEBRATE!“ These were exactly the right words at the right time and everybody started to celebrate to scottish sounds. The typical Scottish Ceilidh was danced by everybody and the mood was just great. Everybody enjoyed the fun and totally indulged into the moments of love and happiness.
Weddings like this are the reason why I love my job making moments like these last forever with my camera. Stacy and Andy, I wish you all the best for your future and the birth of your first child!
